Crafting motion, animation and VFX together to create unique designs and to transform narratives into visual journeys that engage audiences.
I am a London based freelance motion designer and art director from New Zealand. I spend all day crafting designs, animations and videos. When I am not, I’m usually immersed in music, reading, yoga or making something new with my hands. Early on as a designer I realised that what I really enjoyed was being a ‘maker’. I get immense satisfaction from finding those lightbulb moments that make each design or story come alive.
Over the years as a motion designer I have been lucky to have worked on a breadth of projects. From small start ups and charities to businesses and large television networks, my work helps them to communicate their unique ideas, content and stories. The work can include 2d animations with characters, online videos, channel branded content and promos, social media adverts, projection mapping for live events, branding projects and other designs.
My design and animation process usually takes a journey from the initial concept, followed by the storyboard and setting the style to the end results of the final animation. Seeing how each project grows and evolves is for me part of the joy of the creative process.
I really enjoy communicating in a visual and evoking way and it is a great way to captivate. Part of the process is also to foster good relationships between designer and client through this creative engagement so that they too can enjoy seeing their message or product evolve into something they’re really proud of.
